Assessment

"The best" Business Central partner does not exist, there is only the right one for your case. For a simple standard setup, a different partner is right than for a complex or endangered project. Size and rankings say nothing about suitability. For difficult transformations, senior control counts, not the superlative.

Why do superlatives not help with the selection?

A partner who delivers many simple implementations quickly is exactly the wrong one for a group replacement with a grown data foundation, and vice versa. "The best" is not a property you can measure, but a fit between your case and the substance of the partner.

Rankings and awards therefore mostly measure size, revenue or certification counts. Those are real figures, but they say nothing about who will sit in your project and whether that person has ever led a project in your situation.

The better question is therefore: who is the right partner for exactly my situation? An endangered project, a multi-entity structure or deep manufacturing need different substance than a single standard setup. You can answer that question yourself as soon as you name your case. Nobody can answer the question of who is best, because it has no reference point.

How do you recognise the right partner?

Three tests are enough, and all three can be asked in the first conversation, before any money is involved.

  • They tell you what they are not the right one for. Whoever accepts every enquiry has no niche, only pressure to keep busy.
  • They show who would be at the wheel with you, and whether that person has already led your most complex cases.
  • They keep control with you, instead of quietly taking it over.

On the second point it pays to press: name, role, availability and whether that person stays until go-live. A presentation shows competence in the company, not competence in your project, and in case of doubt an entire organisation sits between the two.

The third point is the quietest. Control is rarely lost through one decision but through many small ones: when data-model questions get settled inside the consulting team, when scope changes only appear in the minutes, when nobody on your side can say any more why a process runs the way it does.

What does DGP stand for, and what not?

We are honest about our niche: DGP is a senior-led Business Central specialist for complex and endangered projects. Concretely that means multi-entity and multi-country structures, replacing legacy systems that have grown over years, and projects that have already gone off track once.

For a lean standard implementation without particularities we are deliberately not the obvious choice. There you would pay for seniority you do not need, and a partner with high throughput delivers you the same outcome for less. Saying that openly costs us the occasional engagement, and it saves you money.

Control on your side, with Business Central as home: the right partner keeps you in control rather than taking it over. If your project is complex or off track, test in a first conversation whether we are the right partner for exactly your case. If we are not, we will tell you.

You recognise the right partner by the fact that they tell you what they are not the right one for.

Frequently asked questions

Briefly asked

Is there an objectively best Business Central partner?

No. Suitability depends on your case. For a simple setup a different partner fits than for a complex or endangered project.

Is DGP the right partner for every BC implementation?

No, and we say so openly. We specialise in complex and endangered transformations. For a lean standard implementation without special features, we are deliberately not the most obvious choice.

Is a large Business Central partner automatically the safe choice?

No. What matters is who actually works on your project and whether senior experience controls the day-to-day. A big logo with rotating junior staff is riskier than a small team with proven practice.

The bigger picture behind this question: ERP selection: criteria, approach and checklist.

How do I choose an ERP partner who can really handle my complexity?

It is not the number of consultants that decides, but who actually sits at your table and stays.
