Governance & Delivery

Senior-led ERP consulting means we steer where others advise. Instead of handing down recommendations from outside, someone with experience sits on your side of the table and owns architecture, risk and decisions throughout. Classic consulting delivers analysis and a recommendation, then leaves; the decision, the risk and the delivery stay with you, often with nobody holding the threads bindingly. That gap is exactly where ERP projects regularly go off the rails. Senior-led therefore means two things. First, we moderate the hard trade-offs, deadline against data quality against scope, and keep your priorities stable. Second, the same senior person stays, with no carousel of changing contacts. The second point sounds trivial and is the more effective one: continuity replaces a substantial part of the documentation, because the reasoning behind decisions is not lost. Control stays on your side, with Business Central as the home base.

What does control instead of recommendation mean?

Classic consulting delivers analysis and a recommendation, then it leaves. The decision, the risk and the implementation stay with you, often without anyone holding the threads with authority. ERP projects regularly go off the rails in exactly that gap. Senior-led therefore means two things:

  • Control instead of advice: we facilitate the hard conflicts of goals, schedule versus data quality versus scope, and keep your priorities stable, instead of leaving you alone with a slide recommendation.
  • The same senior person stays: no staff change at which process knowledge is lost and you explain it to the next one again.

The second point sounds banal and is the more effective one. Continuity in staffing replaces a considerable part of the documentation, because reasoning and rejected alternatives stay in the head of the same person and do not have to be worked out again.

Why does the difference show under uncertainty?

Decisions under uncertainty make the difference, not the number of consulting days. When do you stay in the standard, when does a process justify an extension? When is a change request a genuine need and when only an old workaround?

Experience decides those questions, not capacity. Whoever sees them for the first time takes their bearings from the loudest voice in the room. Whoever sees them for the twentieth time recognises the pattern and can say what this decision will cost in eighteen months. That difference is exactly why seniority in an ERP project is not a status marker.

It becomes measurable in one figure: the time from a question being raised to a decision being made. Where that time rises above two weeks, the project is working against itself, and then no amount of additional capacity helps, only the ability to decide.

Why does control stay on your side?

The distinction matters: steering does not mean we decide for you. We take you by the hand, not out of responsibility. What we contribute is the groundwork for your decision: naming options, working through consequences, giving a recommendation and saying what argues against it.

Control stays on your side, with Business Central as home. As BC specialists we use the standard as the starting point and place extensions deliberately, rather than building every special path along the way. That is the practical difference between a partner who works through your requirements and one who assesses and weights them first.

If you cannot say with confidence who at your company decides the next conflict of goals with authority, let us clarify exactly that in a first conversation. In our experience it is the question that creates clarity fastest.

We take you by the hand, not out of responsibility.

Frequently asked questions

Briefly asked

What sets our control apart from classic consulting?

Consulting recommends from outside and leaves. Control sits on your side of the table, owns decisions and risk throughout and keeps your priorities stable when it gets tough.

Does the senior consulting then decide for us?

No. We facilitate and own the control, but the decisions stay with you. You are taken by the hand, not disempowered.

Why is continuous seniority important?

Every staff change is a loss of knowledge and a risk. When the same senior person stays, no one has to rebuild your process knowledge and conflicts of goals are decided soundly.

The bigger picture behind this question: ERP selection: criteria, approach and checklist.
